Solid Wood
Tongue & Groove V-Match Paneling
Solid
Wood Tongue & Groove V-Match Paneling is another product we produce
with our moulders. This paneling can be installed vertically, horizontally,
or on the angle on a wall. It can also be in one width, such as the 8"
Eastern Red Cedar paneling in the photo to the right, or in various widths
in a pattern, such as 8", 6", 6" widths in a repeated pattern.
You can also install it in random widths.
We can produce this
product from your wood or ours. Check our milling rates for the cost of
milling your wood into this beautiful product.
Species that are popular
for this application include Cypress, Eastern Red Cedar(shown at right),
Pine, and Poplar.
- Cypress produces
a light colored paneling, with soft grain patterns showing through.
If you have access to some "Pecky" cypress, that really makes
a spectacular paneling, as the natural "inclusions" in the
wood make for an interesting pattern in the wood.
- Eastern Red Cedar,
as you can see, will bring a room to life with it's aromatic feature,
as well as the beautiful streaks of sapwood throughout the red "heartwood"
of the tree. Cedar also has a lot of knots
and interesting grain patterns in the wood, that really shows up when
you make it into paneling. It's great for paneling in bathrooms and
closets.
- Poplar, also has
a wide range of colors - from light to tan and green, as the sapwood
and the heartwood intermingle. The light sapwood is really light, and
the heart can be almost the color of walnut. In paneling, all these
color ranges are exposed and the result is a really magnificent wall.
Southern Yellow Pine
is very available in this area, and can make beautiful wall paneling at
an economical price.
No stain is needed
on any of these woods, just a clear sealer such as Benjamin
Moore's "STAYS CLEAR" product will retain the wood's natural
beauty. |
